INTRO.............................................

Before coming to Australia, I had several years of experience working on large governmental projects in the environmental field. I pursued a Master’s degree in Australia to further my career, but after graduation, I struggled to land a job in my professional field.

For six months, I applied for countless roles without getting any responses. I realized that my resume wasn’t doing justice to my skills and experience. Despite having a solid background, it couldn’t properly reflect my capabilities. I managed to secure one or two phone interviews, but questions about my temporary graduate visa became a stumbling block. Without a good answer, I wasn’t able to move forward.

To make ends meet, I took a job with a service provider, but it wasn’t in my professional field. While this role gave me local experience, it wasn’t enough to make me eligible for PR, and I knew I needed to find something aligned with my expertise. The most important step was rewriting my resume. Even with years of experience on significant projects, I wasn’t getting interviews because my resume didn’t effectively showcase my skills. Once my resume was ready, I was so eager to apply for jobs that I couldn’t wait. I sent out applications immediately, and the results came quickly. To my surprise, I didn’t even need extensive interview preparation. Thea’s resume strategies were so strong that they not only secured me interviews but also helped me understand the job requirements and anticipate the interview questions.

SUCCESS.................

One of the roles I applied for was advertised on LinkedIn, but I chose to apply directly on the company’s website. Shortly after, I was selected for interviews for two different positions in the same company. When they asked about my availability for an interview, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity, so I scheduled it for the very next day.

With such short notice, I didn’t have time to work directly with Thea on interview preparation. Instead, I used the guided answers she provided in her coaching program. While writing my resume, I had already learned how to identify key job requirements and align my skills to meet them. That knowledge, combined with Thea’s pre-prepared answers, was enough to help me pass the interview and secure a job offer.

Unfortunately, I had to return to my home country due to personal issues and couldn’t take the job. However, a few months later, when I returned to Australia, the same company reached out to me about the second position I had interviewed for earlier. Without any further interviews, they offered me the role.

Now, I’ve been working in this role for two weeks and feel incredibly happy and fortunate. Thanks to this job, I only need to work for six months to become eligible for PR. I can’t believe how far I’ve come. Just months ago, I couldn’t even secure interviews, and now I’ve had two job offers from the same company and am on track to becoming a permanent resident.
